Dream has excitedly waited nine months for his twin boys to be born. He made peace with Nightmare and they both prepared for the babies excitedly. They day came and everything seemed to be going as it should, but hours go by and Nightmare hasn't heard anything from Dream. Nightmare becomes worried and ends up going to check up on Dream. When Nightmare finds him,  Dream laying on the ground, holding the twins in his arms, barely conscious. One of the twins was either a stillborn or died soon after birth, but the other was alive, barely alive, but alive nonetheless. Dream developed postpartum depression and is unable to care for the surviving twin. Nightmare's takes the surviving twin into his own home and will have to take care of him until Dream is able to.
