Once upon a time, an angel of great potential was born, and so she was raised to fulfill that potential. She excelled in everything she did. But as the time approached that her tutelage would be declared complete, the angels around her realized that despite how utterly remarkable she was, she didn't have an ounce of compassion. Deciding the best thing to do was to seal her powers and send her to earth in the hopes that living among the humans would teach her compassion, Gabriela was sent on her way.

As an orphan, Emma Johnson never exactly believed in miracles or magic of any kind. Or even the proclaimed superheroes everyone loved. That all changed the fateful night when she was mugged and attacked. At that point in her life, she had come to the conclusion that she wouldn't amount to much, and as she lied half-conscious on the ground, she couldn't help but think that she deserved this kind of death. She didn't want it, but it seemed appropriate to someone with nothing to call her own. Then in swoops in her own personal superman, saving her and taking her back to his place where she wakes up the next day. She is then surprised to find that everything she thought was fake before, was suddenly coming to life before her eyes.
