How to Mend a Broken Heart

So I was given this task to introduce the importance of science through a short story....I tried to do it, but I'm not quite sure it turned out great. I still decided to post it, though because I'd love some feedback, so please give it a quick read !

It's a story that focuses on a broken heart - not only emotionally broken, but also quite literally damaged. And what I'm trying to show through it, is that science can help fix a physically impaired organ, but there something even greater needed to heal an emotionally broken heart....

Btw, the medical thing (I'd love to be more specific, but I don't want to spoil your reading)I'm referring to might sound like fiction, but it actually exists. You can look it up if you are interested.
