Aboard the Astralaceae, Haledon's purpose was simple: to maintain the balance of nutrients that kept the bramble ship floating through space and seeding planets. Or it would have been if not for the sudden arrival of Druids from Earth and their delivery of a reality-altering truth: The Mecharrion stalk the abyss.

With the aid of Sparrow, a Primeval Druid of Earth and creator of the floral fleet of Astralaceaes, Haledon must bear the responsibility of preparing his peaceful ecosystem for war against a relentless, mechanical horror. Luckily, he won't be alone. With the help of his Guild-a motley crew of Druids, an Arbornaut and a Therianthrope-Haledon will learn the fundamental principles of Druidic Culture to become a Master of Succession. But the Guild will face challenges from Druids and the Mecharrion alike over their training.

Will this guild adapt the Astralaceaes in time to combat the deadly, mechanical foe that stalks the stars, or will their million-year mission come to a climatic end?

Starpiercer: Sunlight's Edge by Neptondoodle
22 parts Complete Mature
Nobody said Rock Hauling would be easy. Throughout settled space, terraforming is the fuel that drives the interstellar economy. For some worlds, this is easy. For others, lacking resources, or on the periphery, this is an unattainable dream. Through the eyes of workers, astronauts and intellectuals, Sunlight's Edge follows an attempt to revitalize the crumbled terraforming project of the barren, poverty-stricken and resource-poor planet of Tylo. To carry this out, the beggared planetary government has commissioned the crew of the aging, if powerful asteroid-cracker Caroline Rowland to make the three-month journey to a distant asteroid belt and tug a selected asteroid back into orbit for conversion into a space station. This is difficult enough by itself, but located in a strategic demilitarized zone between two rival interstellar hegemons, Tylo and it's project may be the flashpoint for a conflict of apocalyptic proportions, with the Caroline Rowland and her crew as the spark that lights the tinder. This is the debut novella for the world of Starpiercer, a planned series of novels set in the 200-world region of Solace with accompanying illustrations, sketches, maps, technical details and more. Read along to meet alien species, experience real and speculative technologies, and follow a sprawling interconnected narrative over multiple novels and multiple series, with fully realized histories, culture groups, physics, biology, anthropology and thousands of pages of worldbuilding. This story has been fully written, and more sections will be published daily, hourly, or in other chunks.

They were born from the stars, but the world refuses to let them stay. It has been three years since the Genesis Flares, the solar phenomenon that gave birth to Astrans: beings with abilities beyond human comprehension. Some see them as miracles, others as abominations but to those in power, they are a threat that must be controlled, exploited, or eradicated. Fear spreads like wildfire, and war is inevitable. Among the displaced and the hunted, a survivor fights to carve out a future for her people, refusing to let them be erased from history. By her side stands the one who saved her, a sister in all but blood, a friend who has vowed to protect her, even if it means keeping dangerous secrets. As alliances fracture and loyalties are tested, they must navigate a world that has already decided what they are: enemies. In the heart of the conflict, two minds once dedicated to progress now wrestle with the weight of their own creations. One, a scientist bound by failing health, seeks to undo the greatest mistake of his life before time runs out. The other, an engineer thrust unwillingly into war, struggles between duty, regret, and the burden of being the only one left to fight. Lines blur between vengeance and justice, survival and sacrifice. The choices they make will determine not only the outcome of the war but the future of the Astrans themselves. Before the war, before the fear, they were all the same. They were all stardust once.

The New World. As its name implies, a land filled with the Unknown. To some, a treasure trove of discovery and riches, to others, the thrill of adventure and the chance of glory, but to all, a mystery filled with endless possibilities. 40 years ago, The Hunters Guild formed a group of the elite in order to investigate this uncharted paradise. That was the birth of The Research Commission. After a perilous journey through the sea, the First Fleet of the Commission crashed on the new world. Unable to move their destroyed vessel, the First Fleet decided to make the crashing site where their new base will be, and after years of adapting and building, they created Astera. 30 years ago, the Second Fleet departed, consisting mostly of Engineers and technicians, whose mighty hammers and incandescent forges created tools and weapons that were sorely needed. 20 years ago, a group of researchers, the Third Fleet, arrived in the New World. However, they stayed in their own base, floating in the air. Whether it was scientific curiosity or the call of something from the beyond, "The Thirds" decided to research the Valley of death. 10 years ago, the resourceful and organized Fourth Fleet arrived, creating systems and stability making sure everything ran as precisely as it should. Lastly, stepping on the trails of the Scorching Mountain Dragon, the largest fleet set sail towards The New World. Filled with the best hunters the guild could find, and thanks to the solid base built-in Astera over years of hardships, will The Fifth Fleet become the final key to unlock the mysteries of the new world? This is a tale of a group of passionate members of the Fifth fleet, who, guided by the radiance of the Sapphire Star, will challenge the unknown and brave the brute forces of nature itself. This is their story, This is...
