❣
I hadn't always been crazy. I was born into the normal world, just like anyone else, boring and basic. But, my mother died when I was 4, she had killed herself one night. My father though, was a former doctor who later became an abusive alcoholic. My life was always destined for failure. According to the locals, I was the "child of the Devil." I could never be normal. I didn't play with toy cars as a child, I found myself alone with objects like knives or box cutters that I stole from my father. They always fascinated me, with the sharp cold edges they carried. Perhaps I loved them because that's what my mother used to kill herself that warm cheery night...
A few years later when I turned 8, I was put up for adoption and sent to a mental school. That's only the tip of the iceberg. The part where I think my life took a turn for the best is when I met a certain myth, a tall tale.
A vampire.
Perhaps if you read on, you'll find out. But remember, we're all slightly insane.

He warns her about his past, about his name, but she ignores all the red flags, not realizing exactly how intertwined she is with the people from his past.
