Butterfly Tears is a collection of fifteen pieces of short fiction. Most of these stories depict the experiences of Chinese immigrant women facing the challenges in language, culture and social systems in North America. The protagonists’ cross-cultural experiences reflect a mosaic picture of human life. Some stories set in China explore women's issues and political discrimination, and also give readers interesting glimpses into events such as the Cultural Revolution and Mao's death. Each of these stories either has a strong character or speaks of a peculiar situation. I write for readers who are interested in human stories, more especially interested in women’s cross-cultural experiences in certain historical periods. All Rights Reserved
