The catastrophe of Splatfest '65 was beyond anything in cephalopod media, the kind that left the streets in absolute chaos. This is a little look into what made it so much more worse than it was. Don't mind the Dedf1sh art, it's not canon to the story, I just like the art.

In the world of Inkopolis, squid kids and octo kids compete in war-like battles with turf for fun. Enjoying themselves, they live their lives trying to be the freshest on the block and showing off their sick skills. Word got out about an accident involving S4 member Aloha, S+ ranker Rider, and that one blue haired kid. Their teammates and friends meet up with them to see if they are alright, but something strange starts to happen. It's not just Aloha acting weird anymore, it's everyone. So yeah, you've all heard the story told by many. About how embracing nuclear power instead of fearing it would lead to having technology advanced quicker, you'd be partially correct about that... The year 2234 was the first and last time humanity was wrong about this statement. After the threat of WW5 many countries were locked into the doctrine of MAD (mutually assured destruction) if war with this power was to happen. But, worry not as many smart people did many smart things like make the Pip-Boy a kind of personal computer strapped to your wrist, there was also the assist bots (creative, I know) who helped the common folk with menial tasks, and stasis chambers or more commonly known as cryogenic pods (cryo pods for short). Well, after some undisclosed country(ies) launched their nukes at both the north and south poles, the world as we knew it was being flooded. People from all over the world had scrambled to try to get to their local vaults that were built by Vault-Tech to try and weather this worldwide catastrophe. Unfortunately, like many stories began the entirely of the human race was not fortunate. Nearly the entirety of the human populace was wiped out. There were was at least a few known places like Alterna and Vault 111. Well, like all the other places, they didn't last long. Alterna went into the dust after a failed attempt at flying a rocket into space to try and find a more suitable planet for humans. And almost every Vault had some sort of problem from a lack of power to improper oxygen filtration to radiation leaks. Well there was one Vault that's in an undisclosed location in a place called Vault 069 and it held the best and brightest people. This is the story of one of its only surviving residence lived with the new life that was created after ~12,000 years of not being seen. This is the story of a man nicknamed The Savior also known as (Y/N) the last remaining human on earth or at least what's left of it.

I exited the SplatsVille lobby, ashamed. My last match had stamped me as a fallen star. My clothes were tattered, and the soles of my shoes were loose. I sighed in disappointment at myself. How did this happen? An octoling comes up to me and offers me a job at Grizzco Industries. A job that can pay off my debt to my suffering. But there's a catch. A dangerous parasite has infected the salmonoids, making them more aggressive than ever. Is the risk worth my life or will them splat me first? Disclaimer: This story takes place in Splatoon 3 after Return of the Mammalians. However, this follows a different story line from the established Splatoon canon. Also shoutout to @ninnacole for the cover art. Many thanks for your appreciation
