"Jacob" I whispered, nudging him. "Shhhh" he said, "I'm sleeping. Just like that. From a hundred miles per hour to asleep in a nanosecond. I wanted so badly to lie down next to him on the couch, to wrap my hands around him and sleep. Just sleep together, in the most innocent sense of the phrase. But I lacked the courage and I am gawky and he is gorgeous and I am hopelessly boring and he is endlessly fascinating. So I walked to the guest room and collapsed on the bed, thinking that if people were rain, I was a drizzle and he was a hurricane.
