It takes place after Mirabel found the Prophecy but Bruno and Mirabel never met/meet(been awhile since I watched Encanto).
Some relationships may seem odder as I incorporated things that are a possibility in the movie.
To those who read Mirabel's Destruction, Thank you for reading that, but I believe this one may turn out to be better.
I have a bad habit of changing between present and past tense so apologies in advance for that

Mirabel saw the cracks on that fateful night Antonio got his gift but this time she kept it to herself. She knew how important that candle and its miracle was to her family but she also knew how much they depended on it. She was not about to let the candle flicker out but if it did she would be the one to protect her family. Will her family realize they have pushed away Mirabel in time it will they lose her forever? The Madrigal's are a famed family that reside within Encanto. They were given a gift, a miracle, and that miracle is passed down through many generations. Their purpose is to serve, help, and protect the citizens of their village. Abuela Alma is the matriarch of the household. Her husband, Abuelo Pedro, sacrificed himself to give her the miracle. This left Abuela to raise 3 beautiful children and lead a village. When these three children turned five, it was their turn to receive the miracle. Each was given a magical gift that would aid them in serving the village. Pepa was given the ability to control the weather with her emotions, Julieta was given the power to heal through food, and Bruno was given the power to see into the future. But as kids do, they grew up. Each child grew into an adult and with some pressure from Abuela, they began looking for partners. Pepa married her childhood friend, Félix, and it was the beginning of Bruno's bad reputation. Julieta, on the other hand, married a clumsy man named Augustin. After their marriages, both women were pregnant soon. And Abuela was delighted to have more magical blessings on the way. Delores and Isabela were born first. The very first grandchildren to the Madrigal family. But between their birth and when they received their powers, Bruno's reputation continued to deteriorate. As did his relationship with his mother and sisters. He was becoming desperate. People in the town feared him. All he wanted was love. Then Bruno meets Valentina. They hit it off. Bruno is desperate. And his desperation results in an accident. Valentina becomes pregnant. Abuela is angry. They offer to get married but Abuela says the damage is done. Valentina gives birth to a baby girl she names Itzayana, after the moon. But Valentina never sees her daughter grow. Follow Itzayana as she navigates being a Madrigal and deals with the effects of her power. And maybe, just maybe, Itzayana finds someone special of her own.Complete

These mysteries will bring Mercedes, a girl with a special and unknown gift that lives outside the tall mountains that surrounds Encanto, towards the Madrigal. And staying by their side, she'll slowly find out that her powers are actually connected with all of their gifts and with all of the events that happened to this family. But what will happen if the family Madrigal will find out who she actually is and what she's capable of? Hi! Well this is my first story and im not very good at writing but Bruno is adorable and I just wanted to give him a big old hug so I just had to try. Forgive me if its not good. It'll be a Bruno x reader story with them meeting when they were younger. Same age ish while they were growing up. Should follow the story line of the movie plus extra.
