Lauren Phillips was just a normal popular teen. She lived in California with her widowed father, she was gorgeous, surfed like any Cali-born teen, and she received good grades to end her junior year, what more could she ask? If only she never picked up that notebook, maybe if she brought it to the boardwalk lost-and-found, her family and friends would never be in danger. Lauren was the average teenager. Glad to be out of high school for the summer before she would have to start college with a not so average terminal cancer that would soon be likely to take her life.
