This is the story of Roxanne Brooks. After seemingly leaving behind a life-altering tragedy, her world will turn upside down once again after a fateful encounter. The powers she acquired in this traumatic accident years ago may actually be a blessing in disguise. But being a hero doesn't come without a price. And when she meets a mysterious man with a tragedy maybe even greater than hers, how will this alter both of their courses? Can a declined call turn into the beginning of a lasting bond?

Original Character x Bucky Barnes (NOT a Bucky x Reader). Though it is an AU, this fanfic will follow the events of the first four phases of the MCU without delving too deep into explanations, so previous knowledge of the franchise is strongly adviced. Rated PG-13 for violence, injuries, and some language (which will appear censored due to personal preferences).
