The stars in your eyes (but they're fading)

Lance had stopped viewing himself very highly a long while ago, one too many signs pointed to the fact that he wasn't good enough for the team. This was until he was separated from the team and had to better himself in order to survive.

(Basically Lance finds himself injured on a foreign planet and has to recover from his injuries while learning their culture)
