After falling deathly ill, given her rite of caste and queenhood to Xena and later being miraculously resurrected and heald by the mixture Xena had given her, Gabrielle insists that dispite Xena's objections, Xena should still remain queen. Not liking the idea, Xena tells her that the title rightfully belongs to Gabrielle. After learning of the option for them both to rule as queen's together, Xena gives in and agrees to the compromise. However the requirements for two women becoming co-queens of the Amazons turns out to involve much more than what Gabrielle was expecting. As Xena notices that their current challenges is far from the only thing that's weighing on Gabrielle's mind.
