{PREQUEL to my "Odd Life of Nova Sue" series}

Not everybody is ready for parenthood, certainly not the Doctor. His wife, River Song, would have thought that her husband would be happy to have the chance of being a father again after many centuries of being alone, and his wife would finally have the chance of being a mother, which was a privilege her parents never had because of the events on Demons Run. When the Doctor starts to sense "abnormalities" with his and his wife's unborn daughter's biology, he immediately decides to take action, and scans prove that his child may be more special than he and River had originally thought. When River is kidnapped, the Doctor never expects things to become so personal until that moment. Will he be willing to risk everything, including River Song's life and the lives of his closest friends, to save his daughter and prevent her from suffering the exact same fate as her mother? And if the rescue proves successful, will he be willing to give his daughter up in order to keep her safe from anyone who tries to take advantage of her? These could very well be the greatest and most complicated questions of the Doctor's many lives, and only his fatherly instincts can guide him to make the correct choices.

{PART 1 OF AN ONGOING SERIES} Life has its struggles, especially when one is born different from everyone else on the planet. Nova Susan Song is no ordinary teenage girl from Earth. In fact, she is not from Earth at all. She possesses these 'abilities' that she does not know the origins of, such as a high IQ that is much greater than any of her peers and to be able to make her skin glow gold and heal any injury at will, but her adoptive human parents urge her to keep these 'powers' secret from anyone she meets, including her best friend. With no clue as to why, Nova spends most of her life researching where her abilities originally came from and concludes that they must have come from her biological parents, who had given her up for adoption when she was just a few days old to be protected from a danger she does not understand--a danger known as the Vokanari, a.k.a. The Silence. And they want her to be their next weapon against her own father, the Doctor. When her best friend and human guardians are kidnapped, Nova joins her biological parents through Time and Space to find them and, along the way, learns the true meaning and responsibilities of being a Time Lord. ----------------------------- Other stories in the "Nova Sue" series: *** PREQUEL "Arising: A Nova Sue Prequel (PART 1.5)" COMPLETE*** *** SEQUEL "the odd life of Nova Sue -- Part 2: Discovering" IN PROGRESS *** Coverpage generated by ChatGPT Stories can also be found on fanfiction.net and AO3 under the same profile name. Our Reluctant Caretaker by Kay_Gilbert
1 part Complete
"We don't have a Caretaker. We have a Creationeer. And we love her." ~Humanity. We think we're from here, but are we really? What happened to us before then, and who was involved? Kit - a young B-Tier Creationeer - didn't want this job. She's not trained to be an Intelligent Species Caretaker, and yet she's forced to care for the last remnants of a damaged and traumatized humanity by an old, malicious evil. After carrying us around in a modified to-go habitat bubble for 18K years, Kit wants a vacation, but is hesitant to leave us alone on our new planet she built; Earth. She confides in Pan - an A-Tier Caretaker and Kit's best friend and roommate. She reveals the full story of how she came to be in possession of us and why she can't hand us over to a licensed Caretaker. Pan reveals the tragic truth of the first 10 years of our existence before Kit found us. The new knowledge Ignites a fire in both. So the two young Ethereals come up with another plan that involves the three grad school roommates, Pan, Sid, and Kit, taking us on a long road trip to the Andromeda galaxy for some good old fashioned revenge- justice. And also Screw Jim. (warning: Contains strong language.) Please comment and vote. :) I'd really appreciate it. ^_^ (This idea was born from the second I saw a photo of Earth from orbit showing the glow of our atmosphere and thought, "Haha! We live on a bubble planet." :) ) NOTE: They're not gods. This is not theology. They don't have all the answers, they're not all powerful, and they can't do everything. They're closest equivalent in a fandom would be like lesser cousins to the Q. In this AU, Humanity knows about Kit. They don't deify her. To them, Kit's presence is normal, tangible, and real. She's always been there.
