Akuryo; It might as well have been a name to him. Well, now it was, anyway.
All his life, Ren has known one simple fact: As a shapeshifter, he would never be welcome in the world, never seen as anything more than vermin at best, and hellspawn at worst.
But when his attempt to do the right thing lands him in more trouble than he realized, he decides that what seemed like a fatal mistake might be his last chance to leave everything behind. To start over.
Simple rules are set: Trust no one, stay alone, and stay alive. Then, once the year is over, live a quiet life as a normal human.
But as friendships form left and right, fears demand to be faced, and the world unravels at its seams, there's only one thing that's clear:
Ren thought he knew by now what fate had up its sleeve, but it seems it's decided instead that it won't be that simple.

After months of getting to know and love Futaba Sakura, knowing that she is the one he wants to spend the rest of his life with, it's all ripped away by one man. Takuto Maruki has decided that people cannot be allowed to think for themselves, and that they should never have to feel pain, well, unless you interfere with his plan. After being thoroughly trounced by the Phantom Thieves, Maruki makes one last ditch attempt to break the theives, and kills Futaba. In his blind rage, Akira Kurusu, otherwise known as Joker takes matters into his own hands, and stops the mad God in his tracks. Time reverts to its original self, with Akechi dead and gone and Maruki and Futaba alive and well, and Akira in Juvinile Detention. After being freed from prison, he finds out that something went wrong when the timeline was restored. Futaba knows him not as her lover, but merely as his friend. Now Akira must find a way to cope with this new life in Hometown, while trying to juggle the return of the Metaverse, and Futaba tries to find her way through the complex feelings she has for Joker, but can't quite explain, as well as the dreams that almost feel like memories. Will she push through and recover her memories and her love? Or will she and Akira both fade into the Mementos of what they have lost. I took a couple liberties with events and the Timeline, but overall, I stayed fairly close to the original game's story. The leader of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts, Joker, AKA, Ren Amamiya, is not in a good mood. It's been a year after the events that happened in Persona 5, and trouble has struck. Ren's parents have been arguing, and now they are getting a divorce. To find his own peace, Ren decides to return to Cafe Leblanc in Yongen-Jaya. But things seem to get worse, as he gets in arguments and finally decides to be a shut-in. The Phantom Thieves try to reach out to him, but nothing seems to be able to get to Ren. With a little bit of help, the group of teens manage to access the Metaverse that has reformed once again. And to their surprise, they discover a palace. A palace who the ruler is none other than Ren Amamiya himself. I don't own Persona 5 or any of its characters. Artwork displayed is not mine unless otherwise stated. If one soulmate gets hurt, the other(s) will feel a small tinge on where the injury is, and a soulmark aswell {example: star, heart, etc.} Colors: Red-Normal, Black-Cut string, White-Other died Hanahaki Disease: Being the result of one-sided love, Hanahaki makes the victim cough or puke out flowers in the color(s) of their love interests' hair. If the love insterest doesn't love them back before it's too late the victim will stop breathing due to the flowers in their lungs. The only way to get rid of the disease without the love interest returning the feelings would be the victim getting them surgically removed, resulting in them loosing their emotions entirely. Star Tears: Another result of one-sided love, much like the Hanahaki. However the person will cry star shaped tears that make twinkling noises when hitting the ground. This is not removable, meaning the only way to stop the victim from going blind would be for the love interest to love them back.
