our story begins in Kings pass with a soldier named Kay. she had gone through the three kingdoms before becoming a soldier at king's pass. she was hoping to spend what was left of her free time in peace there, but as the closer she gets to the appointed time that she was supposed to return home and take her place and loose the freedom she's had the more she wonders if she made the right choice. will she find a way to change the hand she had been dealt or will she learn to accept it?
