The Unintended Union
Gwendolyn Hillsborough is an orphan with a secret past. She is the banished daughter of a dead king and a cruel queen, who gave her a new name and left her to die on the streets. She was rescued by a kind old woman, who raised her as a Christian and taught her to trust God.
Prince Liam Westley is the heir to the throne of a feudal realm. He is grieving the loss of his twin brother, who was the crown prince and his best friend. He is also betrothed to Princess Juliet Benjamin, the daughter of Queen Sophia Benjamin.
When Gwendolyn is asked to deliver a mysterious package outside the castle, she gets lost and wanders into the royal grounds. There, she is mistaken for Juliet, who mysteriously disappeared. Gwendolyn is taken to the castle and held captive, while Liam feels a strange attraction to her.
One day, Liam takes Gwendolyn to a secluded spot and confronts her. He asks her who she really is. He has noticed the differences between Gwendolyn and Juliet, such as their personalities, manners, and interests. He has also seen how Gwendolyn acts with kindness, humility, and faith, unlike Juliet who is selfish, arrogant, and deceitful. Gwendolyn decides to be honest and tells him everything.
Liam is shocked and angry, but he does not expose her. He acts coldly towards her when they are alone, but he also protects her from harm. He arranges a meeting with Gwendolyn and Eleanor Samuelson, Gwendolyn's personal maid and friend, who helps them cover up her deception. Prince Liam and Gwendolyn eventually develops a close friendship, peacefully.
However, their happiness is threatened by Juliet's mother, who wants to destroy Gwen's reputation and prevent Liam from falling in love with her, after Juliet's revisit to the Palace.
