The Unintended Union Gwendolyn Hillsborough is an orphan with a secret past. She is the banished daughter of a dead king and a cruel queen, who gave her a new name and left her to die on the streets. She was rescued by a kind old woman, who raised her as a Christian and taught her to trust God. Prince Liam Westley is the heir to the throne of a feudal realm. He is grieving the loss of his twin brother, who was the crown prince and his best friend. He is also betrothed to Princess Juliet Benjamin, the daughter of Queen Sophia Benjamin. When Gwendolyn is asked to deliver a mysterious package outside the castle, she gets lost and wanders into the royal grounds. There, she is mistaken for Juliet, who mysteriously disappeared. Gwendolyn is taken to the castle and held captive, while Liam feels a strange attraction to her. One day, Liam takes Gwendolyn to a secluded spot and confronts her. He asks her who she really is. He has noticed the differences between Gwendolyn and Juliet, such as their personalities, manners, and interests. He has also seen how Gwendolyn acts with kindness, humility, and faith, unlike Juliet who is selfish, arrogant, and deceitful. Gwendolyn decides to be honest and tells him everything. Liam is shocked and angry, but he does not expose her. He acts coldly towards her when they are alone, but he also protects her from harm. He arranges a meeting with Gwendolyn and Eleanor Samuelson, Gwendolyn's personal maid and friend, who helps them cover up her deception. Prince Liam and Gwendolyn eventually develops a close friendship, peacefully. However, their happiness is threatened by Juliet's mother, who wants to destroy Gwen's reputation and prevent Liam from falling in love with her, after Juliet's revisit to the Palace. This is inspired by "The Silent Songbird" by Melanie Dickerson and "The Amaranth Enchantment" by Julie Berry.

When one is in an abusive relationship, usually the solution is to obviously leave that relationship. But ones fears may hold you back from doing something that you may or may not regret. This is the case for Juliet, who is seemingly very happy with her marriage, at least in the eyes of every bystander. Of course that's not the case in her own opinion. The relationship is nothing but constant abuse from the very aggressive husband who has made it very clear on several occasions that if she were to ever leave, that he would find her and the consequences would be deadly. His mission to find her has now begun as she makes her getaway as he is passed out drunk on the floor. Where is she to go when her parents are self centered people who only care about their fortune? Her aunt of course, who loves her as if she was her own. Her aunt is the one who raised her, so why not return home? Her lifestyle has now been changed as she changes the way she lives as she returns home to the countryside. Now living on a farm with her aunt, more responsibilities have to be taken upon her. What happens when her aunt passes away? She is now faced on this journey of life by herself. She's not totally alone when she realizes her past friends still live in the area and she makes a reappearance in their lives. The rare love she never feels slowly starts to return to her life. What happens when her closest neighbor, Everette, is her only hope for that of fixing a tractor? Connections start to be made and relationships start to form. Friendships? Or more? That is the question for them. Can their relationship be strong enough to help heal wounded pasts. Trust forms in both of the new found lovers. Can their love be strong enough for them to overcome the power of Ross (husband) He's coming back and he plans on fulfilling his plans and being true to his word. He wants Juliet dead. Can the lovers overcome him if he were to return? © Samantha, Rayne, 2017
