In a world where supernatural forces can be harnessed by human technology and science, everything seems to be perfect. With a snap of your finger, the most mouth-watering meal can appear before your eyes, dreams can come true with some small will and wish (and a few incantations of course) and just possibly, people could find a way to conquer death herself. Avery, keen to defeat her looming deadline of imminent death, is alone and - although she refuses to admit it - afraid. With nobody to love her in the current mortal world, surely the only option to achieve human companionship is by finding a better match, in a better world?
