I had always just lived. Nothing much being able to faze me. My family was dirt poor, mom had bailed when things got rough, a drunk of a father who had never really recovered after losing the love of his life.

Being rich isn't always what it's pan out to be. This might only be a biased opinion based on my life this far. A bitter mother, who'd worked so hard for everything she'd wanted. An absentee father who demanded nothing but perfection from his one and only son. They were always so different yet always the same. Such a contradiction.
Everything would change after I met her, slowly but surely.

Was it the way she'd looked at me that told me she knew, she more than knew, she understood. How she'd chosen to deal with it was so different. She had been left alone, abandoned, she didn't understand what it meant to be loved yet she didn't blame everyone. She just chose to accept it and move in stride.
