A 12-year-old thief. A fireproof shopkeeper. A card magician. A mysterious old man.

Eighteen years before our story begins, a scroll was created by none other than Grand Mage Athael. He called it the Ng Ey, and it was famously blank. Indecipherable. That is, until young master-of-disguise Kellyn happened upon it and saw something.

As he turned the multicolored case in his hands, he spotted the label, which simply read, 'for young eyes only'. His brow furrowed. He opened the case and spread the paper on the pedestal, and his eyes narrowed further. The text, while still written in gold and composed of incomprehensible words, was arranged into paragraphs. It began with a small header followed by a comma, and there was a name signed at the bottom that he couldn't quite make out.

Kellyn shifted his hand and noticed a second sheet of paper behind the first. This one used varying shades of gold ink, from lighter yellow to almost brown. Given the boxy, graphical nature of this sheet's contents, it seemed to be a map, but its markings were still in the mage language.

"Theaza!" a muffled voice snapped, seemingly from below. Kellyn jumped. "Don't touch that!" He peered around the pedestal and noticed a loose scroll wedged into the floorboards, but nothing more.

Time was of the essence. He stuffed the scroll back into its case, satcheled it, and hurried out of the room. The sound of ricocheting water crashed back into the foreground, and he started to run.

"You're... not afraid?" His voice was barely a peep, shy gaze half-turning away but still watching him out of the corner of his eye. His hand instinctively reached for the pendant at his chest, tips of his finger grazing the crystal and ready to grasp it, somewhat afraid of the answer that would come next. "Why would I be afraid? You're like the coolest person I've met so far! Plus-" He poked his side, and George squeaked, jumping back from the ticklish sensation. "You're so scrawny and small. I'd never be afraid of you!" George never wanted to be one of them. But at eight years old, he discovered he was a Psychic and he was committed into a faraway island academy for Extramundanes. Despite the difficulty of making friends when even other super-powered classmates are afraid of you, George finds a tight-knit group of best friends who aren't afraid to stand up for him. Yet with age comes his developing abilities, and as he grapples for control, the disappearance of one of his best friends leads George and his friends on a runaway road trip to rescue him. However, they fail to realize their true adversary is the threatening power searing inside one of their own. --- ! So many people may not know this story and all so I figured I'd post it here. Siderion is mere minutes away from becoming a member of the Order and earning his first rank stripe when Serkha City is attacked and his life is changed forever. Thrown away from everything he holds dear, he must scramble for answers as his moral ground shifts under his feet. In a world full of mages and monsters, nothing is safe. - - - - - - - - There were lots of other mages gathered in the plaza, addressing the arkaetres they had ridden with curt nods or short dialogue. The doors to the building were big enough for even the largest dragon to enter, but still only a small imperfection in the huge structure. I knew the door was the size of a dragon because I could see one to compare it to, flying above the dome. Then I realized that the dragon was black. "Dad? Look up there." He looked up and cocked his head in confusion. "I've never seen anything like that before." The beast was quite high in the sky and didn't look particularly threatening, but it still spooked me to see an arkaetre that wasn't white. After watching the shadowy dragon for a few more moments, my dad said slowly, "It seems like they have no rider. We should probably tell the Council about this." I nodded and followed him inside the dome. "But what about the opening ceremony?" I asked nervously, looking down at my watch. "We've got some time." - - - - - - - - Remember to comment and vote for the chapters you enjoy! Any and all feedback is appreciated. Primsharah will become the center of a deadly play, with the powers of the gods themselves at stake ... *** Refusing to watch his family crumble beneath the weight of poverty, Arran has resorted to stealing from the rich to provide for his mother and sister. His ability to bend light prevents him from being caught ... until one day, he is. His captors have no intention of turning him in, though, instead making him an offer that he cannot resist, but which will change the course of his future forever. Meanwhile, Princess Serafina, heir to the throne of Primsharah, welcomes an unusual suitor in the royal palace. This stranger brings a dangerous gift for her father: the Sphere of Truths, one of the ten World Artifacts, created by the gods themselves. As the Shah sinks deeper into his obsession with the Sphere, Inna starts experiencing visions about a thief stealing another Artifact, the Amulet of Doom. A deathly curse is bound to the Amulet, and its theft will set in motion a series of events which might destroy Primsharah for good ... and the world along with it. Together, Arran and Inna flee across the desert to find out who is stealing the Artifacts and why. But Arran's time is limited as the curse flows through his veins, with no hope for salvation save for the stubborn princess who is determined to see his survival. **AVAILABLE ON AMAZON** (Book One in the Whispers of Nowhere trilogy) When Gwen's father gets home late from work, it's just another typical night for the museum curator's daughter. The next thing she knows, she's being whisked away from the comfort of her home into a world beyond her wildest imaginings. When she thinks things couldn't possibly get any more complicated, she's proven wrong. Because those bizarre artifacts? Now those very same forces are on the rampage, intent on revenge against the gods whom imprisoned them-and they don't care who else gets hurt along the way. Possessing innate powers she can't even begin to understand, it is up to Gwen and her two mysterious allies to reclaim the lost artifacts before someone far more sinister does...

-:𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐋𝐄𝐓𝐄𝐃:- -This book moves a bit faster than my usual pace. Some events might feel slightly fast-forwarded, but I've done that to keep the essence tight, the emotions raw, and the story impactful without unnecessary dragging. . . He exhaled, running a hand through his hair. "Roop, shaadi kisi majboori mein nahi ki jati." (Marriage isn't something that should happen out of compulsion.) A bitter smile tugged at my lips. "Yahi toh farq hai tumhari aur meri zindagi mein, Anirudh. Tumhare paas choice hai, mere paas nahi." (That's the difference between your life and mine, Anirudh. You have a choice. I don't.) His expression darkened. "Main tumhari family se baat karunga-" "Nahi!" I cut him off, my voice sharp with desperation. "You won't understand. You've never seen helplessness, Anirudh. You don't know that when a girl has no options, she only looks for survival." A strange silence stretched between us, thick with unspoken pain. Anirudh sighed and leaned back against the bench, his fingers tapping against his knee. "You're telling me you'd marry any stranger just because you have no other way out?" I stiffened. "You're not a stranger." His lips quirked up, almost amused. "Until a day ago, I was." I clenched my fists. "I don't care who you are. I just need to accept this match, or the other option will destroy me." Anirudh fell silent, his gaze steady on me. The playfulness in his eyes faded, replaced by something more intense, more thoughtful. Finally, he asked, "And what if I tell you that I don't want to marry you either?"
