We don't know who they are. We don't know why they're doing this to us. Our lives are just pieces on a chessboard, controlled by the players of the game. If our player decides to sacrifice us for a couple of the other player's pawns, so be it. We can't stop them.
Or so they believe.
But maybe we're more than chess pieces. It seems crazy, but maybe the player can't always control us. Maybe we're still living, breathing souls, oppressed, but not gone. Maybe the path our lives follow isn't up to them after all. Maybe it's up to us.
