1857 at the peak of the Gold Rush, Mei travels to Australia to prospect for gold like her brothers did 6 years ago. She has always been mistaken for a man until she meets William, who sees her for the woman she is. Coming out of her oppression, she quickly latches on to William finally making her own choices. Arriving at Ballarat everything goes smoothly considering the stakes of the time, perhaps too smoothly.
