It's a tale as old as time; star crossed lovers, doomed from the start, a tale of cursed love. Tim and Rita are in separate schools; Tim in the boys' secondary, Rita in the girls'. When the two schools come together for their annual production of a Shakespeare play, Tim and Rita are cast as the titular roles in Romeo and Juliet; however, the two schools' harsh rivalries make their resulting love socially unacceptable. As Opening Night draws nearer, the star-crossed lovers plan a bold move in an attempt to make a statement and end their schools' rivalry, but what will happen when things don't go as planned?
