Meiming, the wife of a Dane named Sigefrid, lives her life to the fullest! Her husband loves her unconditionally and Sigefrid's brother Erik, seems to like her too!

One day the brothers are called to Cumberland, to a King named Guthred! There they meet the Dane Uhtred Ragnarsson and Guthred's sister Gisela!

Meiming travelled with her husband and his brother and passed the time looking at Cumberland's nature! She met many nice people and when the conversation was over, the three of them rode back home!

For months they heard nothing of Uhtred, as he had been sold to a slave trader! Guthred could not keep his promise and when Uhtred's uncle Ælfric left for Bebbanburg again, the brothers also withdrew their offer to help kill Kjartan!

Meiming looked at her husband who was worried about her safety! Kjartan's son Sven the one-eyed did not stop when it came to satisfying his cravings! Meiming assured her husband to be careful!

When Uhtred was back and brought an Irishman with him, he sneaked into Erik and Sigefrid's camp one night! That night Sigefrid lost his sword hand and Meiming lost her nerves! She wanted Uhtred Ragnarsson dead!

But something about his newest companion was interesting and she felt the urge to get to know the Irishman! Also Kjartan's bastard son, Sihtric was now Uhtred's companion! 

Meiming helped her husband to get back on his feet and had an attachment made for his injured hand! This attachment contained a dagger that could be covered with a cap! Suddenly the brothers had the idea of taking Beamfleot and Lunden! First they went after Lunden and tried to sell Uhtred a lie...

Will Meiming and Finan find each other?
