Ameera has trained all her life to be a priestess, to take her dead mother's place as a priestess of her father's deity; Tedika.
Tedika rejects her day and night, but she keeps trying. Until she is visited by the woman who has the sun for eyes, and skin black as night. Now her village is plunged into total darkness, and as their priestess-in-waiting, she must save them.

Nidin is her father's only daughter. She had been ignored and treated as though her opinions didn't matter. That is until a terrible tragedy strikes her village; and the blame is put on her. Because she dances the dance of the lady of the sea. The one who speaks to her in dreams.

They're both cast into the mouth of the beast, the evil forest in search of the legendary tree of gods 'Nashumi'.
Ameera wants to save her people, Nidin wants them to suffer. But now they must work together; she who is born of fire and she who is born of the sea, because a great evil is rising. For one has betrayed the trinity.
