A mermaid’s kiss can grant you any wish, but it comes with a price. You have to be willing to pay the price to get what you desire most. Many people have tried, failed, and even died on the path to finding the secret mermaid lagoon. Difficult obstacles block the way and only the brightest with skills beyond the ordinary human can succeed. Though, the location of the lagoon itself is shrouded in mystery. Only one man is known to have gone in and come back out alive, with his wish granted. No one knows what he wished for, nor does anyone know where he is today. Jake’s life was perfect. His parents were rich, he lived in a big house, always got what he wanted, and was even captain of the football team, leading his school to the sixth win of the season. At the last game winning catch, people swore up and down that he flew to catch that ball. They might just have been right. He was the golden boy everyone loved and hated for the same reasons. Then one day, during school, his parents told him life changing news. His sister was dying. There was nothing the doctors could do and it was estimated that she only had a month more to live, if that. Then he heard a story that could save his sister’s life. He believed in things most people didn’t. And with the help of a girl he left everything behind to chase a myth. Thalia was that weird kid, the one with her head always stuck in a book, the one that was always caught doing things that were unexplainable. Her whole life she wished for an adventure, like the ones in her books full of danger, magic, and a little bit of romance on the side. And when a boy came to ask her for her help to discover a legend, she couldn’t help but to say yes.
