Shadow has been acting strange after his last visit with the psychiatrist that he forcefully accepted by order of G.U.N as a treatment for his agents so that they are mentally well after each mission.
After that session a part of him that has been repressed finally comes out of his mental prison on that full moon releasing that part of him that he has always loved to a certain pink hedgehog from the beginning.
