Hiccup was an outcast in Berk. After befriending a dragon, he realized these 'monsters' weren't what he thought they were. He learned things from his dragon, which caused him to excel in dragon training. Eventually he was chosen to have the honor to kill a monstrous nightmare. He knew he couldn't do it, he wouldn't do it which pushed him to run away. During his journey he meets a girl who had a light-fury.
