This poem is meant to be from the point of view of someone who has recently been dumped, and has basically been left with no explanation, and they begin to realise that they can move on and they do not need another person to complete them. The poem is quite short, but i hope it portrays what i have written above.
This is a poem i have written for my college graded unit, i don't usually write poems so i have no idea if i have done this properly or if it is any good, but if i received some feedback positive or negative that would be great :)

A Forever That Lasted
"Everything I need is here," he whispered in my ear. I looked into his eyes, only to see me in them. He pulled me closer; we were just inches away from each other his breath was fanning my face. I could hear our heart beat in a rhythm, being this close to him; I could feel his heart hammering in his chest. His grip tightened around my waist as he placed his other hand on my cheek. My hands were on his chest, holding his shirt which seemed like my only support as my knees felt like jelly! It seemed so magical. We were so lost in each other, he leaned closer and my eyes shut automatically. As soon as his lips met mine, a thousand fire crackers started bursting in my head, there were goosebumps on my skin and butterflies in my stomach. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Should you tolerate anything in a relationship just to make it work or because he's your first love? Some relationships aren't meant to be. It's the same with us. Though we both are deserve each other we aren't mean't to be. I want to be with him but i know the consequences of that. I won't let that happen I want to be with her yet I know that I will be broken in the end. I won't let it happen. This too shall pass. I will get over him. I will find someone else. I will get over her. This is a story of two people who are struggling to move on after a break up. They both are longing to have a closure and do so by reminiscing the past and understanding their wrong doings. But in this process, will the old wounds be healed or new ones created?
