How can one kid do anything to save the world? 

That's impossible. Not in a situation like this. The Oracle said he was the one though. So he was taken away from his home and trained to fight. Trained to use an ability that no one was even confident he had. But hey, at least he isn't entirely alone. There were six of them. Six kids all around the same age, all gathered to train under one of the greatest Generals in the whole world. Two from The Surface, two from The Sky Islands, and two from The Undergrounds.
