Lucy Carlyle has been dating Anthony Lockwood for the better part of three years this coming fall. It's been rough, considering The Problem is still running rampant around London, but they've been making due and are...decent...at keeping their relationship under wraps when in the field or in public. Few people know the extent of their relationship, for obvious reasons, which is partly why any alone time they get, off the clock, is used for...extraneous activities.

What happens when something causes a turn for the "worst" and makes cases harder? What happens when the height of The Problem decides to pick up like it's never left? What happens when old faces begin to appear when they are least wanted?

This does take place after The Empty Grave, but they did not solve The Problem. They are 18/19 in this work and the powers that the children have fade out in the late twenties, early thirties. The current "posse" consists mainly of Lucy, Lockwood, George, The Skull, Holly, and occasionally Kipps and Flo.
