The bloody aftermath of Agincourt brings about horrors the people of France couldn't even dream of. English King Henry V has his sights set on Normandy, and there is nothing he won't do to claim it. 
The city of Rouen is the last stronghold in Henry's bloody path through France. They should be able to hold out long enough for winter to ravage his army, or for aid to come. They will last 174 days.








Trigger/Content Warning: grotesque violence throughout. Torture. Characters experience PTSD. Grief is discussed at length. Deeply unsettling imagery, and graphic violence. Animal abuse. Some mild crude humor. Be aware of your mental state and seek help as needed.

He and his fellow soldier Jacob must help each other survive the cruel trenches, but it is no longer certain that either of them will return to England alive. Told in journal entries and letters from Henry's sister Elizabeth, this reveals the realities and horrors of World War I, on the battlefield and in the homefront. I wrote this for a history project while studying WWI and got way too involved in it, so here you are. WARNINGS: gun/bomb/gas-related violence, war descriptions, graphic death, suicide attempt. I will mark specific chapters with warnings and give summaries of those chapters on the following one. On August 4th, 1415, English King Henry V will execute three men. Two days later he will set sail for France to begin his historic Agincourt Campaign. The three men killed are accused of "imagining the death of the king", a charge with no legal basis. One of the accused is King Henry's former best friend, and for him Henry reserves the harshest punishment. Over a decade of lies and betrayal, ends sharply with what historians still debate being cold blooded murder. This incident will go down in history as the Southampton Plot. Inspired by true events. Trigger/Content Warning: Graphic violence throughout. A minor is sexually assaulted on page***.
