Night City breathed chaos and opportunity, if one was smart enough to know where to look.

Kaitlyn was another mercenary in the city, taking jobs from fixers and trying to make a living in a place that constantly yearned to take everything from her. The only constant by her side was her white-haired friend, Maxwell, who's reckless attitude was just as likely to get them killed as it was to finish the fight. After one particular job, they realized they bit off more than they could chew, and suddenly Kaitlyn was stuck with an extremely illegal- and highly coveted- A.I. weapon. One that somehow recognized her by name.

On top of that, a new addition to their duo, a sly-mouthed mechanic with a penchant for annoying her, has thrown their team dynamic off course.

You will be red by your best hunter, Renee Madison." Renee felt her blood go cold as she stared wide-eyed at the ship. She was unknowingly dropping her gun at the news. " she will be your leader; she will be my prize. You have a time advantage. Go!" The ship took off, looking for a place to land, all while the news sank into the Town's residence. Renee had known she had fucked up when she fired at one of those predators and hit him. She had proven herself worthy of the hunt. Now she has to face the consequences, not only her but her entire Town had to. Renee had to win this hunt; the fate of her Town depended on it.
