This story will be taking place in a beautiful kingdom of fantasy and excitement, where many mythical creatures live in peace and harmony. Whether you're looking for creatures of day, like fairies, or creatures of the night, like hybrids, you can find them.

Well, except for one...

A creature only described as being the living darkness of the world- The Dragon of the Desolate Realm.

In the prophecy of the kingdom, there shall be a lone Prince born in the darkest of night, sharing the aligned stars with the birth of a child from this darkness. After twenty-two years, on the night of a blood moon, the one born from the darkness shall lead a grueling army into war against the Kingdom, and the lone prince will be the one destined to defend and slain them, bringing safety and balance back into the kingdom.

But what happens when something that shouldn't take place comes into view? When emotions and aging enter the picture?

Because in their youth, an unexpected meeting takes place, leading to an unlikely friendship...

and maybe unlikely feelings...

And what if whilst performing her duty of protecting the realms, she becomes aware of the feelings her best friend Ashton harbors for her, knowing her cousin has taken a liking to him for years? Rowan realizes he has fallen in love with her cousin, as well as Zephyr who has fallen for Maria. She finds herself in a turmoil of longing and raw emotions where she has to choose between love or performing her duty. Read it all as it takes place right before your eyes. It's never too late to hop onto the track of fantasies "I might be the princess of the moon, but I can also be the bringer of your doom." ----- All the characters, kingdoms, names, and places are my ideas. Any resemblance to real ones is purely coincidental. The story contains some violence and some explicit scenes of gore, but nothing too bloody or disgusting. Keep in mind, that this is the first book I've ever written, and English isn't my first language. Any mistakes or twists of words are unintentional. I'd do better than this in the future so 🐻 with me.

Veiled in Light and Ruin

20 parts Ongoing

Every year, Lyra's village gathers beneath the ancient statues of the Fates, offering prayers and sacrifices to keep the creeping darkness at bay. The Ruined Kingdom stands in the distance, a forbidden place where no one enters and no one leaves. A place ruled by a king who does not age, does not die, and does not care for the world beyond his walls. Lyra has never believed in fate, only in survival. With her mother's health failing, she is willing to do whatever it takes to save what little she has left. But when this year's ritual goes terribly wrong, Lyra is taken-ripped from the life she knows and thrust into the heart of a kingdom lost to time. There, she is told she has been chosen. That she, along with others, must vie for the favor of a king no one has seen in over a century. But something is wrong within the castle's walls. Whispers of the past haunt her steps, and the King-cold, untouchable, and shrouded in secrets-watches her too closely. As shadows stir and forgotten magic awakens, Lyra begins to question everything she's been told about the Ruined Kingdom. And, more importantly, about herself. Because the deeper she delves into the mystery of the King and the kingdom he rules behind the walls, the more she realizes: Some destinies are written in blood. And some fates are meant to be broken.
