"Don't you understand?" They were arguing about me.
But then again, almost everyone did in District 13.

What to do with her? Where should we put her? Why is she here? I didn't know myself.

No, but this particular conversation interested me.

"There's nothing to understand! We spent all this time trying to get her out of the Capitol and you just want to send her back in?"

"Listen to me, that girl is Snow anymore. She isn't the girl you loved!"

"You act like they completely switched out her brain."

"You never know with the Capitol."

"I don't care, I messed up with her once, and I'm not screwing it up again."

"Don't you see? She's gone."

Silence.

They were right of course.

I was gone.

I was utterly and hopelessly gone.

***

Sacrifice.

Snow Pristeen knows it better than anyone.

She threw herself into the Games for a girl she didn't know.

She sacrificed her secrets for love.

She sacrificed those she loved...but for what?

With the future of Panem at her hands, Snow has to decide if she's willing to sacrifice everything for the chance to change.

One problem.

Snow...really isn't Snow anymore.

She's someone new.

❝Welcome to hell! Tell me, how does it feel to be Snow's new puppets?❞ ➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳ A Victor's child is probably the most prestigious title anyone could have in the Capitol's opinion. Maybe even for the Districts. But the reality wasn't as great as they made it look. Dove Ogilvy, the youngest out of the three adoptive children of Librae Ogilvy, came to realise this at a very young age. The Hunger Games, the tributes, the deaths, even the Victors were all part of a massive show for the Capitol. No one could escape it. And for Victor's children, the reaping was just a formality. None had achieved to escape fate. Everyone knew they would get reaped eventually. And in District Four's case, they were thrilled for that to happen to the Ogilvy family. Dove was determined to volunteer. Angelique Ogilvy, her older sister, had all the odds to be reaped for the 66th Hunger Games. But she wouldn't let that happen. Volunteering at the age of thirteen wouldn't be smart, but she couldn't let her sister die for someone's corrupted show. However, President Coriolanus Snow had other plans for her. She didn't know, but her games started way before the voice of Claudius Templesmith declared the countdown. Let hell begin, and may the odds be ever in your favour. ➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳➳ (Pre-Hunger Games-Mockingjay) I do not own the Hunger Games or any of the characters, except the Ogilvy kids and some side characters. DISCLAIMER ➳➳➳ This was my first fanfic, so the writing isn't exactly top-notch. A rewrite is already in motion and being slowly published separately from the original.

- You guys should remember this one, and you better. Jolene Kensington. - Haymitch announced, pressing his presentation forward to show the image of the young woman getting reaped. - Yeah, I remember. - Although Katniss wouldn't admit it out loud, she actually rooted for the girl while watching her games. - Good! Just like you, sweetheart, she's the first ever and only female victor of her district, 10. Very dear to the Capitol, they are devastated to see her going back into the games. - As the mentor explained, all three of them watched the footage of the girl looking directly into the camera, her delicate eyes shinning confidently as she displayed a smile. - What's her strategy? - Peeta asked, interested in knowing more about the girl who didn't look like much of threat from the outside, but probably shouldn't be underestimated according to Haymitch's description. - Despite being likeable? - Haymitch said sarcastically. - Well, surprisingly, she's very skilled at hand to hand combat. - Ok, that's easy, I can just take her out from afar with the bow then. - Katniss dismissed the problem, visibly relieved of knowing how to defeat at least one of the many strong opponents she would be going up against. - See, that's where you're wrong. - Haymitch casually cut off her suggestion, moving closer to sit on top of the coffee table and staring his two tributes in the eye. - You're not gonna fight her, you're gonna ally with her.
