The Red Sea is the most feared gang in Japan. They make up for their relatively small size in their ruthlessness as loan sharks. On one fateful day, 25-year-old Atsuo, a young man living on the streets, gets roped into the fearsome gang. After staying in their hideout for a while, Boss, the leader and founding member of the gang, decides to put him to work. He enlists Isamu, who is second-in-command, to train Atsuo to be a loan shark. 

But Atsuo is barely prepared for the cruel reality of the business, and soon, he finds himself more and more affected by the violence. 

After an incident occurs, Atsuo's fate hangs in the balance as he has no choice but to infiltrate the gang. And as secret after secret gets uncovered, his once "ordinary" life gets turned on its head.
