The boy Maria likes doesn't like her, but talks to her all the time at school. He teases her, steals her notebooks, and makes her laugh. The boy that likes Maria never talks to her, doesn't fully admit it, and just plain never talks to her. Maria feels like she's on a tightrope across the Grand Canyon. If she doesn't stop herself from falling, Maria will fall.
