Bacon was a high-standing researcher back on earth. He often performed... less moral acts in pursuit of knowledge, much to the displeasure of his previous employers. His life would soon turn around, however, as an organization with less focus on morality and were rather prioritized on results came along and hired him for a job.
A job that would take him to another planet.

Original release: 2020 Two paths stretch before Jora as he awakens in the hospital without memory nor any known records: on one, a doctor wishes to help him recover his memory; on the other, a scientist wishes to do the same. However, on their quest for the truth, not everybody has his well-being in mind as they discover the reality of his situation puts their own goals in danger. A combination of Science Fiction and Fantasy that embraces the bizarre, and is wrapped in mystery with some aspects of horror. 2020 Author's Notes are available in the comments. I highly recommend reading the chapters first! 2024 Author's Note: This story has been cancelled, and is due to be rewritten. Many aspects may likely change in the future, though. I originally took down this story because I disliked the universe I'd set up as well as the execution of the story itself, and intended on doing a reimagining. That second take came and went, burning myself out over struggles to pace it well thanks to its highly unusual and experimental structure. This story was also taken down to prevent some of the events that occurred later in it from spoiling the latter parts of "Redwater Riot." That said, I feel like it would be a good idea to rerelease this story as a sort of museum work, a way to look at what my writing was back then and how it has changed over time. I don't intend on finishing "Polaris Garden," though I do intend on a rewrite in a later "Imperial Reach: Awakening." Something much closer to what this was than what I'd done before. It wasnt long until a new Fellow was picked up from the desert sands, an old MERC worker, didnt know much about the city as the others would have hoped, but they could handle weapons like no other. Their final proving day has finally come which included working in the shadows to disable simple defense mechanism inside Nexus city personally while Hank and his 2 coworkers disable Project Nexus for once and all. Doc gave them a chat device, saying they have a special "Information Provider". Now... that is curious.
