For orphaned unicorn Ezra Taran, the threat of discovery is ever-present. Royal inquisitors stalk the kingdom, hunting down unicorns for their hearts in the name of the king, Arthur Tristan. When the conflict brings King Arthur and his inquisitors to Ambervale, Ezra's entire world is turned upside-down. To make matters worse, it seems that the king has taken a romantic interest in him, and Ezra finds it increasingly difficult to keep up pretenses as he finds himself falling for Arthur in return. The young unicorn is soon unsure of how long he can keep his identity a secret from the one he loves... or if he even should.
