At the age of nineteen Anna decries the world after her brother, Charlie, is murdered trying to protect her. She cycles through psychologist after psychologist, but no one understands the crushing weight of her guilt. Because Anna is holding a secret. A secret no one knows. Charlie's death was her fault.
In a bid to help her heal, her parents allow her to move into Charlie's empty house. But instead of healing, Anna locks the door, and doesn't leave. A year goes by, and then her mother finds The Survivor Crew, a peer support group for trauma survivors. In a desperate plea, she threatens to sell Charlie's house if Anna doesn't attend. It's at Anna's first Survivor Crew meeting that she meets Ezekiel.
Ezekiel is nothing like Anna. His scars are right there, on his face, for everyone to see. A topic of conversation, or quiet whispers. But over time Anna begins to think her scars might not be so different, even if they can't be seen. Will Anna finally be able to heal the wounds that have controlled her life for so long?
