Klaus has told Caroline that he would leave Mystic falls. He would never look back again and he would move on, if Caroline gave him her confession about him. It's now been 4 entire years. Caroline had to deal with a lot of stuff, the one thing she promised herself and the last thing she thought about was turning off her humanity.
