A zombie apocalypse with a twist of Native American Lore. 

It all began from a sequence of events so absurd, complicated and uncommon as to be unbelievable but an ancient Hopi Pueblo Prophecy predicted a time when the dead would roam the earth.

They called them the Sleepwalkers. Monsters created during an unsurvivable cycle called the Sleeping Sickness, which would last for the length of time it took for only those born during that fateful era to grow up. 

There was no promise ANYONE could survive such an event. 

Nor was there ever any oral account as to how it might happen. Only a promise their Great Spirit would give them a sign.

Enter Investigative Journalist and War Correspondent, Nathan O'Connor Sr. 

While covering a story for the WHO in Ethiopia he stumbles upon a dark plot originating in secret medical bio-labs that had the power to wipe out humanity, and runs concurrent with a Hopi prophecy predicting this event. 

Gathering as much information as possible,  he took his findings to WHO HQ in Switzerland.

He just never imagined his hard work would never see the light of day. Until it was too late.

If someone is a 'thing', automatically presume them dead, or at least soon to be dead. It will always take about 2 weeks to become fully changed, hopefully you can chop of that body part in time for the infection to stop. If you can't, put an end to your soon to be painful and horrible turn/death. These beings as I announced only a moment ago, look exactly like a human, two way to tell if they are one or not, their attitude and their eyes. They don't have emotions, only hunger and let me tell you, they will go out of their way to eat you, they will speak but it will sound different... Deformed almost. The eyes are usually the first to become infected, they become slightly red at first, as time progresses so does the intensity of the color red in the eye. The color in their eyes they once possessed, will seem dull, it will seem as if they are unfocused or unfamiliar with their surroundings. That is all I can tell you for the moment Lexi, but know their are people waiting for your arrival, and we are waiting for you to end this suffering race." Our main character, Romero, decided that a change of scenery would be a nice decision for himself after a traumatizing event in his life. So, he decided to go and live in a nice, quiet town. It is said to be amazing. The townsfolk are supposedly nice. The scenery is amazing. There does seem to be a little bit of noise at night, but that is normal. Right? I mean, who would not love to live next to the woods in a town that has a "Wolf Problem," whatever that means, AM I RIGHT??? No but seriously, he is a bit concerned for his well-being, and along with trying to keep his past and his job a secret from the town, he is trying to figure out how to process some new... information... he gets about the world he lives in.
