The first and last calamity happened over five thousand years ago. What happened? Nobody remembers.

Nobody wishes to remember.

All that remains in history are vague descriptions and underwhelming tales of the alleged past, one no mortal has witnessed with their own two eyes.

"Faced with the darkness in the tunnel of despair, humanity lit a torch of desperation to find their way out."

Towers were built, the ill were shunned. The narrow streets were now blanketed in white - pure, spotless - all that humanity now claimed to stand for. Birds no longer sang, the light no longer shined. Lovers forgot how to love, and people forgot how to live.

Yet, little by little, fate untied its threads, birds broke open their cages, love surged in hearts. The plague would surely return, colouring the bleak world anew.

There is a disease in the heart of man.
The disease is human emotion.
