"I would never dream of courting Penelope Featherigton not in your wildest fanatisie Fife"
As the days turned into weeks, Penelope's determination to find a husband grew stronger. She attended every social event, dressed in her finest gowns, and put on a brave face despite the pain in her heart. She refused to let her broken friendship and unrequited love define her.
Meanwhile, Colin Bridgerton couldn't understand why Penelope was giving him the cold shoulder. He had returned home with the hope of rekindling their friendship, only to be met with silence and avoidance. He racked his brain, trying to recall any possible reason for her sudden change in behavior.
One evening, at a grand ball, Colin finally mustered the courage to confront Penelope. He approached her, his heart pounding with anticipation and anxiety. "Penelope," he said, his voice filled with a mix of confusion and desperation, "why have you shut me out? What have I done?"
Penelope looked at him, her eyes filled with a mixture of sadness and determination. "Colin, you have been my best friend for years, and yet you never saw me," she replied, her voice tinged with a hint of bitterness. "You never saw the love I had for you, the love that I thought could have been something more."
Colin's eyes widened in realization, and a wave of regret washed over him. "Penelope, I... I had no idea," he stammered, his voice filled with remorse. "I never meant to hurt you. I was blind, and I am so sorry."
Tears welled up in Penelope's eyes as she looked at him. "Colin, it's too late now," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "I have decided to move on, to find someone who will see me, cherish me, and love me the way I deserve."
Will this love story end in disaster or will their love be enough to keep them together?.
