Fifteen-year-old Stella Fennel is destined to be a hero, but she doesn't know that yet. All she knows is that her rural hometown and her overbearing mother's household are far too small for her dream of becoming a knight. Her decision to run away from home in pursuit of her heart's desires takes her to the Royal Court of Evermor, a place where even the most unbelievable of her fantasies can come true. But there are some obstacles, and not all of them are what Stella expected. As she strives to save her beloved Kingdom of Evermor from the darkness that lurks on the horizon, she must face not just the monsters of legend but also the challenges of real life.
