A Real Nightmare
For Katerina Tremain, life as a child was difficult, and as an adult has only gotten worse. As a small child, Kat's parents always nit picked at everything she did. It was never good enough for them. She was a failure in their eyes and no matter how much she tried to exceed their expectations, she was still not good enough. She never would be. She developed low self esteem, anxiety, depression, and over time-paranoia. She adapted and learned to deal with it. She was afraid to do anything for herself. Paranoia along with the constant "What could happen" plagued her every move, her every decision. Fear of the unknown. Going to club 'Pure' was the start of her new life, but when a stranger buys you a drink...you shouldn't accept it. That undiluted feeling of 'fight or flight' hit her in one enormous wave. Fear brought on adrenaline, it sung in her veins-and as she turned to hastily leave, that nagging thought in the back of her mind said, "You're being watched. Run. Now."
