The Bells of St. Nicholas

A true story from childhood - whose childhood? Firstly those of our children, four children now grown up, but also of our own childhood; an age when life itself is an exciting, colourful and imaginative story, and when the seasons and the festivals, in this story, Christmas and St. Nicholas coming before, are full of the most wonderful pictures and tales.
This is an excerpt from a longer tale I am in the process of writing, a companion for parents of young children, or for those of children already grown, reminiscing in the journeys of a family.
