While the earth is inhabited by Inklings and Octolings, somewhere deep underground there is a single representative of the "elder race". A representative of a civilization that has been erased from the pages of history textbooks. The man woke up in this nightmare filled with fear and uncertainty. Will he be able to survive and adapt to this situation, what are his actions in this new, bright and ... inky world???

Reading does NOT require knowledge of the game and its canon, there are illustrations. The fanfiction is inspired by another project, called "The Polaris Project" and has a similar beginning with "The late riser", for which special thanks to them. All rights belong to Nintendo.
