18 year old Laylia Earnest is fending for herself- or at least mostly by herself. Her mother suffers from Alzheimer's, and can't always remember her responsibilities as a parent. But no one would know this by looking at Laylia; on the outside she's responsible, intelligent, and well put together.
Mitch is an outsider. He doesn't have many friends and he is the definition of a wall-flower. With a troubled past keeping him from what he wants, Mitch desperately tries to forget his negative memories.
