In the shadowy world of Bangkok's most powerful crime family, Phayu Theerapanyakul is the son of Vegas and Pete - heir to the infamous Theerapanyakul mafia empire. Cold, calculating, and deadly, Phayu is known for his sharp mind and sharper aim. He lives a life wrapped in blood and secrets, never allowing anyone close enough to see the man behind the name. Rain is nothing like the world Phayu comes from. Sweet-faced but sharp-witted, Rain is a Korean-Thai architecture student at Chulalongkorn University, raised by his gentle, hardworking father after his Thai mother passed away. Beneath Rain's soft voice and innocent eyes lies a fiercely independent spirit - and a hidden truth: Rain is a carrier, a male capable of bearing life. One fateful night, Rain is walking home alone - his car still in the shop - when a group of men corner him with cruel intentions. But just as hope begins to fade, Phayu appears like a storm: dangerous, silent, and unstoppable. Within moments, the attackers are on the ground... and Rain is safe - but shaken. Their eyes meet. Time slows. And without a single word, Phayu disappears into the night, leaving Rain clutching his bag and heart alike, haunted by the stranger's face. Who was he? And why did it feel like fate had just whispered their names in the same breath? As the city pulses with secrets and danger, their paths will cross again - and this time, neither of them will be able to walk away.

When the most destructive earthquake in America's history happens just south of St. Louis, seventeen-year-old Fallon Connelly is already on shaky ground. Her mom's alcoholism caused her parents to split and now her dad is constantly on the road, trying to make enough money to pay child support. It's all for nothing anyway, since his money just ends up in her mom's liver. At the same time, Fallon's best friend Cal Dorsey starts to act on his feelings for her and she wishes like hell he'd leave their relationship alone. So when the fault line beneath their feet tears apart, without knowing the fate of her mom and barely escaping the inferno in her high school, she and Cal form a small group and set out on foot across a city in ruins. Fallon and Cal witness the backward-running Mississippi river, encounter city-wide panic that escalates into rioting, and examine what they really mean to each other. In the end, it'll take luck and a will to survive in order to make it home. Whatever home means.
